Fat transfer

Facial fat transfer

Fat transfer involves harvesting fat from other parts of the body and carefully placing small amounts in specific areas of the face. It is often harvested using liposuction from the abdomen, thighs or flanks.

“Microfat” transfer is performed to add volume or contour specific areas - commonly the jawline, temples and midface. It may also be used carefully in very small volumes to rejuvenate other parts of the face. “Nanofat” transfer involves further processing harvested fat into even smaller particles and is used to improve the appearance and quality of the skin.

Unlike filler, fat transfer is a more permanent solution. It is often combined with other procedures, such as a face and neck lift, brow lift or blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery).
